SABATON: 'Attero Dominatus' Reissue Track Listing Revealed
January 26, 2011Available for the first time in North America as non-imports, SABATON's first four full-length albums will be re-issued by Nuclear Blast on April 14, 2011. 2006's "Attero Dominatus (Re-Armed)" will include five bonus cuts, a demo track plus two cover songs.
A Swedish power metal sextet that specializes in military history, SABATON bassist Pär Sundström shares the following memories of the "Attero Dominatus" recording sessions, the decision to cover DORO's "Für Immer" ("For All Time"),the identity of SVENNE RUBINS, plus some additional information about the bonus tracks:
"For SABATON's second release, we decided once again to work with Tommy Tägtgren. This time we came more prepared and knew more of the sound we were looking for. We were in a rush since we were going on a big European tour right after the recordings — and it was really right after. We left the studio with the final master only one hour before departing to the airport!
"For the bonus material, we chose two of the cover tracks we had already done.
"We were asked by our old friend (and booking agent for Europe) if we wanted to participate on his tribute album to Doro. Of course we wanted to, and we wanted to do a song which nobody would expect us to do, so we made 'Für Immer'. Another cover song is the 'Långa Bollar På Bengt'. It’s a famous Swedish song by the band SVENNE RUBINS. They are from our region in Sweden and we did this song actually before we had enough of our own songs. Later it became requested by fans worldwide."
"Attero Dominatus (Re-Armed)" is as follows:
01. Attero Dominatus
02. Nuclear Attack
03. Rise Of Evil
04. In The Name Of God
05. We Burn
06. Angels Calling
07. Back In Control
08. Light In The Black
09. Metal Crüe
Bonus tracks:
10. Für Immer (DORO cover)
11. Långa Bollar På Bengt (SVENNE RUBINS cover)
12. Metal Medley (live in Falun 2008)
13. Nightchild
14. Primo Victoria (demo version)
As previously reported, SABATON has recruited DRAGONFORCE bassist Frédéric Leclercq to play guitar on the band's upcoming European tour. He will be filling in for regular SABATON guitarist Rikard Sundén, who "has decided to multiply himself and will have his first kid at this time," according to a statement released by the band.
The group adds, "Of course, it's the highest wish of SABATON to tour with all six members, but this time Rikard wanted to pass and to ensure that the fans that come to these shows will get a good show we wanted to bring in a person with both great musical talent as well as a great stage act together with a chemistry that we know fits in SABATON. We are sure that Frédéric is that person. This is, of course, a temporary situation, Frédéric is still a full member of DRAGONFORCE and Rikard is still the guitar player of SABATON. For the American tour that starts in April, Rikard will be on stage again, ready to rock and a hopefully a bit richer in life."
SABATON's "World War Tour 2011" of Europe is scheduled to kick off on March 3 in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg.
The band's fifth album, "Coat Of Arms", sold around 450 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 124 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
"Coat Of Arms" was released in Europe on May 21, 2010 via Nuclear Blast Records.
